1. Bring flats/flip flops

Girl, let’s be real, though the new wedding heels look amazing, they can put a damper on the day, especially if it’s the first time you’re going to be rocking them. Be kind to your feet and consider some classy flats or sandals to switch in and out of throughout the day! In some cases you might need them especially if you are considering a photoshoot out in the forest or at the beach or whipping out those dance moves at night. 2. Do an Updo

“Should I wear my hair up or down?” while ultimately it’s up to you and how you prefer to do your hair, from our experience brides who put their hair up for their wedding have a better chance lasting the entire day without any touch ups. Think about it, most wedding days last at the very least 6 hours, and you’ll have to endure sweat, sun, wind, humidity, hugs from guests and much more! Having an updo decreases the chance of losing the shape or style of you hair. Here’s some great ideas if you’re looking:

3. Bobby Pins

That being said, having an arsenal of bobby pins handy will do you wonders regardless of how you style your hair that day. Make sure your bridesmaids or the groomsmen have some on them since they’ll typically have a lot more pockets than you will. Trust us, having extra pins around will be a godsend for your hair throughout the day.

4. Kleenex in the bouquet

You can avoid having to hit pause on the ceremony to get a tissue from someone by having them readily available in your bouquet! It’s so simple, so easy, that it blew our minds when we first discovered brides were doing this.

5. High Heel Protection

If you’ve decided that on the big day you will be wearing high heels then consider grabbing some high heel protectors! These are designed to prevent your heels from sinking into the ground. Not a problem if you’re mostly on hardwood floors, however if you’re planning on an outdoor wedding or having a few photo shoots outside, then some protectors will save you a lot of time and discomfort.

6. Break into your shoes

Wedding days vary from couple to couple, and though you might have a relatively short wedding, the average wedding day can have you on your feet for at least 6 hours. The longest wedding day we’ve been a part of has been 14 hours! No matter what kind of shoes you’re rocking on the day of, consider breaking them in before the big day. Walk around the house with them, or take a stroll around the block, your feet will thank you later.

7. Lighter dress

Big princess-like dresses are stunning and absolutely lovely, but some more real talk here: they’re heavy! Having a large wedding dress can be one reason why brides have a second outfit for their reception. Typically you want to be able to have some mobility and get your groove on during the reception. Rather than having to spend time changing out of one outfit into a completely different one, consider a lighter dress that you would love to wear for both occasions. Here’s tons of examples of light wedding dresses that are hard to say no to:
