Shadi & Omeed

The name Shadi translated from Farsi means “Happiness” and you can just feel how true that is when you are around this radiant bride. Funny enough, this wasn’t the first time we’ve met Shadi and her family. Just a few months ago we had the pleasure of capturing Bahareh’s wedding, Shadi’s sister.

It was a great feeling to see so many familiar and happy faces. Shadi is known by her family as being “daddy’s little girl” and that is evident when you see her father lovingly pinch her cheeks on the dance floor.

We had the chance to see more fun Persian traditions like Kalleh Ghand (sugar cones) which are rubbed together over the bride and groom to signify showering the couple with sweetness. And of course, one of our favourite traditions to capture has to be Raghseh Chagoo (knife dance) where the couple have to earn their knife to cut their cake which is presented by female family members.
